Mentorship sits at the heart of SLIDE Youth Dance Theatre’s impact, empowering young dancers in Darwin to develop as confident artists, collaborators and creative leaders.

Rather than replicating a single style or career pathway, mentorship at SLIDE is artist-centred and strengths-based.

Young people are supported to find their own creative voice, build agency and imagine sustainable futures in the arts.

SLIDE’s intergenerational mentorship model connects young people with both emerging artists and established professional dance practitioners—locally and nationally, creating rare pathways for learning, exchange and artistic ambition in the Northern Territory.

The mentors bring a high-quality artistic leadership into the local dance community and exposure to professional practice that is limited by our geographic isolation.
