The words you say, they ricochet.
They bounce, glance, rebound, skim and skip.
They hurt, they heal, they eyeroll, they play… with your head and your heart.
The words you say directly affect the person you meant them for.
We have a responsibility to be kind and good to one another, to practice empathy and understand that everyone has a struggle.
Ricochet is a dance-theatre work that celebrates the insights and quiet strength of young people in 2026.
How do we embrace resilience to bounce back in a world that throws us more than a few curveballs?
Ricochet is a work that reminds us to think about the impact our words have, and to choose kindness above all else.
Through a seamless blend of choreography, lighting, sound, and storytelling, Ricochet creates a world that is powerful, playful, and profoundly celebrates harmony - an experience that stays with you long after the final beat.
Funny, sad, and above all, brave.
SOMEONE ELSES STORY
SLIDE Youth Dance Theatre and AANT Centre present
Communities are made up of vulnerable, unique and beautifully flawed people. And that’s a good thing, because it would be boring if we were all the same.
Someone Else’s Story is a sharp, comedic exploration of society’s moral fabric when an ordinary morning train ride quickly derails and the commuters, a band of misfits, find themselves in a very tricky position.
Collectively, they must work together to solve a HUGE dilemma before they reach the end of the train line; strangers when they first stepped into the carriage, and then colleagues, one might say, when the train pulls into the last station.
Caught in the crossfire of conflicting opinions, quiet crushes, prickly personalities and problem-solving geniuses, Heather is having a difficult day.
Sometimes, difficult days are made better when you let good people in.
A reimagining of the 2019 hit, this production delivers hilarious storytelling, bold physicality, poignant characters and mandarin essence.
In Someone Else’s Story, you might see the vulnerable, unique and beautiful parts of yourself…
The Letters
AANT Centre and SLIDE Youth Dance Theatre present
In a quiet park in the middle of a busy little town, much like Darwin, a single bench carries the secrets of the people who visit.
Day after day, layer upon layer of their lives are shared with this garden park, where they feel safe to be themselves, to be open, to be unseen.
But they are seen.
Today, something feels different in the park, the flowers seem a bit brighter, the breeze is comforting. And then, there’s the envelopes.
One for everyone, with their names beautifully hand written.
What is inside and who has left them here?
The Letters is a dance theatre work created by youth, for youth, celebrating their connection to all people, regardless of age. It reminds us all that life is precious and sometimes the most unlikely people can add light to your life. A piece that is heartwarming in its message of truth and wisdom, with a whole lot of humour and a generous spoonful of sugar.
The Letters champions generational respect….. it is about connecting as human beings in this world where we sometimes get caught up in the disconnect.
